Ranked Matches and Ranks
When playing a Ranked Match for the first time, you will be paired with people that supposedly are close to your skill level thanks to the Skill-Based Matchmaking. Once the actual match starts, you will have to do your best to display a good performance and earn rank points. Here's a summary of the things that give or take points and how many:
-
Team Rank: This indicates which place you ended up in a match. The closest you are to 1st Place, the more points you will get. 1st Place gives 1000 pts, 2nd Place gives 500 pts, for 3rd Place it's 400.
-
Total Damage Dealt: This one is pretty self-explanatory, the more damage you deal, the more points you obtain. The maximum amount of points you can get from this stat is 300, which is attained by dealing 3000 DMG throughout the match. Even if you deal more damage, you won't get more points it.
-
Total KOs Dealt: In this game, a KO is defined by which player DOWNs an enemy. If Player A does most of the damage to the enemy and Player B DOWNs the enemy by giving the final blow, the KO will go to Player B (so long as the DOWNd enemy gets KOd afterwards, whoever KOs the DOWNd enemy is irrelevant). So, this stat basically defines how many people were KOd after you DOWNed them. Each KO grants 125 pts, so 2 KOs give you 250, and 4 KOs give you 500. Do not worry too much about your ally giving the last hit and "stealing" your KO, because those who contributed to the kill will still get a "KO Assist".
-
KO Assists: If you've dealt damage to an enemy but it was your teammate who gave the final hit and DOWNd them, you won't get a KO, but you will get a "KO Assist". These assists give 125 pts, just like regular KOs, so don't worry if your teammate suddenly deals the final flow and "steals" your kill, because you will still get your 125 pts. If the last hit was delivered by an enemy team, you will not get the assist.
-
Total Team KOs: The more people you and your teammates KO, the higher will be your point gain from this stat. For every KO, 25 pts will be added.
-
Bonus For Defeating A Full Team Battle: There are three ways of playing ranked: Solo Q (which means you simply click the Battle! button and get paired with strangers), Duo Q (When you play with a friend but your third teammate is still a stranger) and Full Team (when the whole party are friends you joined/they joined your party). Killing a team of 3 friends (a Full Team) gives extra points, even if you only kill one of the enemy teammates.
-
Bonus for Defeating A Higher-Ranked Opponent: Some people you will face might be labeled as "Higher-Ranked", people in a rank above you. Defeating them will also grant you points.
-
Ally Support Pts: Supporting gets its own point category, which is key for Support Characters but also useful for non-support ones. You can get Ally Support Points from reviving teammates (via revive cards, revive special actions, helping them get up, etc...), via drinking teamheals, and via consuming Team Enhancement Kits. From this you can usually get between 200 to 600 pts depending on how much you supported your team.
-
Entry Cost: This stat is your enemy, unlike the others, this one actually takes points away. In Beginner Rank the rank cost is zero, but the moment you step into ranks beyond you will start getting an Entry Cost that will take ranked points from you. The goal is to get enough points from the other stats to surpass the entry cost. Additionally, owning the latest two characters and alternative battle styles will each reduce the Entry Cost by 100 (if it's the latest character and/or alternative battle style) or 50 (if it's the 2nd latest character and/or alternative battle style). This Entry Cost discount does not apply from Expert I onwards.
There are 5 main ranks in My Hero Ultra Rumble: Beginner, Amateur, Pro, Expert and Ace. Every new player starts at Beginner Rank, which is split into 3 sub-ranks: Beginner I, Beginner II and Beginner III.
Reaching Beginner II requires 2,500 pts, while reaching Beginner III requires you to reach the 5,000 pts mark. Once you leave Beginner III and reach the next rank, you won't be able to be demoted back to Beginner, even after a seasonal reset.
To leave Beginner III you need to get to 7,500 pts. Once you do that, you will reach Amateur I. Unlike Beginner, Amateur has 4 sub-ranks, and it does have an Entry Cost.
- Amateur II is reached at the 15,000 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 150 pts until you reach this rank.
- Amateur III is reached at the 22,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 200 pts until you reach this rank.
- Amateur IV is reached at the 30,000 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 250 pts until you reach this rank.
After Amateur Rank follows Pro Rank, also known by some as "Gold". You can be demoted to a lower Expert rank if you lose enough points, but you cannot be demoted back to Amateur Rank. The point requirements and Entry Costs are as follows:
- Pro I is reached at the 37,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 300 pts until you reach this rank.
- Pro II is reached at the 47,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 500 pts until you reach this rank.
- Pro III is reached at the 57,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 550 pts until you reach this rank.
- Pro IV is reached at the 67,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 600 pts until you reach this rank.
- Pro V is reached at the 77,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 650 pts until you reach this rank.
After Pro Rank follows Expert Rank, also known by some as "Obsidian". You can be demoted to a lower Expert rank if you lose enough points, but you cannot be demoted back to Pro Rank. The point requirements and Entry Costs are as follows:
- Expert I is reached at the 87,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 700 pts until you reach this rank.
- Expert II is reached at the 100,000 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 800 pts until you reach this rank.
- Expert III is reached at the 112,500 pts mark, and your base Entry Cost will be 900 pts until you reach this rank.
After Expert Rank follows the final rank, Ace Rank. Unlike Expert, Pro, Amateur and Beginner, Ace does not have sub-ranks. Once youv'e reached Ace you've basically hit the summit, as there are no more ranks after and you'll obtain the last batch of ranked rewards. To reach Ace Rank you need to reach the 125,000 pts mark. The journey between Expert III and Ace will have an entry cost of 1,000 pts, which will increase to 1,100 pts the moment you reach Ace Rank.
However, the grind is not truly over after reaching Ace, since the game offers an actual ranking (known as MVP) featuring the 2,500 players with the highest ranked point count. Thsoe below the top 1,000 will get a small amount of tickets, while those that are in the top 1,000 get extra rewards, those who reach top 500 get even better rewards. The top 100 players get the 2nd best rewards, while the top 10 get the best of the best. The difference in terms of non-cosmetic rewards is pretty low, so if you're not somebody with a lot of time then this might not be worth it, but if you do have time, then you can play some more and squeeze some extra tickets.
The rewards for the MVP can contain gold, roll tickets, seasonal MVP badges and the top 1000 badge, the specific rewards are as follows:
There's also another ranking that gives players rewards: The Billboard Chart. When opening profiles, you will see a like button. Clicking it will send the player "likes". You can send likes by clicking on an agency's member name in the agency member list or by using the like button in Spectator Mode while you're dead in match. Just like the normal ranked ranking, those below the top 1,000 get a few tickets, while those in the top 1,000, 500, 100 and 10 each get a better set of rewards.
The Billboard Chart's rewards are almost identical to that of the MVP, replacing the seasonal MVP badges by the seasonal billboard badges. The specific rewards are as follows:
To access the base ranking (MVP) and the Billboard Chart, just click the "Menu" button on the bottom right and then click "Rankings".
